Versatility
"The CCA versatility awards program is designed to recognize Collies which have distinguished themselves in both the breed ring and in AKC recognized performance events. These dogs possess the conformation, temperament, intelligence, and herding and working capabilities which represent the essential characteristics of the breed. The versatility awards are based on a point system which is used to weight each title based on its difficulty".* Versatility Award winners are required to earn 5 points from three categories and Versatility Excellent winners are required to win 10 points from three categories. categories include Conformation, Herding, Obedience, Agility and Tracking. To win either award, a dog must have earned points in Conformation & Herding. Other points may be earned in any combination of the other categories.
The Inland Empire Collie Club is one of the leading performance clubs in the country with seven Versatility Award winners and four Versatility Excellent winners. We also have two collies that have won Versatility Awards from the American Kennel Club.
Club members strive to produce collies that can do it all... and do it all well!

The American Kennel Club also recognizes dogs who demonstrate exceptional versatility in performance events. These Versatile Companion Dog (VCD) titles are awarded to dogs who earn titles in obedience, tracking, and agility, with numbers following the titles to signify increasing levels of difficulty. As of 2005 only five collies in the country have earned the VCD-1, and only 3 have earned the VCD-2. Two of those eight VCD recipients belong to an IECC member.
